Bank of Ayudhya PCL., known in Thailand as ''Krungsri'', along with its subsidiaries is collectively referred to as the Krungsri Group. Krungsri (SET symbol: BAY), was established on April 1, 1945, and its ordinary shares have been listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand since 1977. The Group engages in businesses permitted under the Financial Institution Business Act, the Securities and Exchange Act, and other related laws, and is under supervision of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

(BTMU), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan's largest banking group and one of the world's largest and most diversified financial groups. BTMU's investment resulted in credit ratings upgraded for Krungsri from key credit rating agencies, Fitch Ratings upgraded Krungsri's rating from BBB to A-, which is at the country ceiling level for Thailand. while Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's also upgraded Krungsri's ratings from Baa2 to Baa1 and from BBB- to BBB+, respectively. Locally, Fitch Ratings (Thailand) and TRIS Ratings also upgraded the Bank's rating from AA-(tha) to AAA(tha) and from AA- to AAA, respectively.
This strategic partnership leverages both Krungsri and BTMU's complementary strengths thus establishing a unique position for Krungsri in the Thai banking industry. BTMU is a world-class financial institution with a business network covering in more than 50 countries worldwide. The partnership strengthens Krungsri's leading position in the retail banking business in Thailand and across the region by providing access to a larger customer base. Today, Krungsri is the fifth largest bank in Thailand with 1,432.0 billion baht in loans, 1,125.5 billion baht in deposits and 1,857.0 billion baht in total assets (as of March 2017).
