Pulse-Check: 2019 Thailand General Elections
LIVE WEBINAR
The Election Commission (EC) on 23 January confirmed that the long-pending general elections will be held on 24 March 2019, after several postponements. The general election will be the first since the 2014 military coup that installed the military government led by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha.
In the lead-up to the elections, the lines between political rallies and opposition-led protests may be blurred, especially if perceptions that the military government is undermining the fairness of the electoral process heighten. The military government’s potential interference with the election outcome, including nullifying results that indicate a loss for a pro-military party also carries the risk of increased unrest.
Timely planning and preparation are key to ensuring the safety and security of your workforce. Therefore, in our 25-minute webinar we will discuss:
• Latest developments and possible outcomes of the elections.
• The likely impact of the election period on your organisation’s operations and workforce safety.
• Practical steps organisations and staff can take to mitigate risks in the current security environment
