At AMCHAM’s August Monthly Luncheon, we are pleased to welcome guest speaker Kumiko Shimamoto of Getty Images to talk about the new trends and technologies empowering creative narratives for the future. 
 
Drawing on Getty's market research in the photography industry and forecasts for future technologies, Kumiko will share insights on popular trends over the years, such as authenticity and the responsibility to address diversity and inclusion through content and at the workplace. Kumiko will also reveal the latest trends in editorial photos and talk about integrating new technologies and tools such as AI advancing photography. 

Kumiko Shimamoto, Vice President of Sales – Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South East Asia. Kumiko is responsible for developing Getty’s business in East Asia, prior to which she worked in the Getty Images London office and has been responsible for the strong growth of editorial sales in the U.K., Germany and Spain. She has a background in computer game development, sports licensing as well as in development of a business park in Central Kyoto before her move to the UK to work with Getty. Kumi holds a B.A. from Kobe University (Japan) and an M.A. from the University of Manchester (U.K.).
