On LinkedIn, James calls himself an "amateur property observer", but his social media updates are still followed avidly by industry professionals, James was previously an Executive Director of CBRE Thailand for 29 years, during which time he held a wide variety of roles including servicing the property requirements of multinational corporations, research, consulting, capital transactions and property management. James originally joined CBRE in 1987 in Hong Kong, and then established the company's Beijing office in the People's Republic of China, where he was responsible for leasing the China World Trade Centre. He joined the Bangkok office in 1990 and was also a founding partner of CBRE in Vietnam and Cambodia . He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Valuation and Estate Management from Bristol Polytechnic, UK, 1985.
