For the AMCHAM Academy's fifth engagement, Christopher (Chris) Cantrell, Legal Attaché of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), will share his thoughts on Cybersecurity. This event is open to the AMCHAM Academy cohort only.
About the Speaker:
Chris has served as the Legal Attaché of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Bangkok since January 2020, having previously served as Assistant Attaché of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Bangkok from 2012-2015. His career with the FBI spans over 20 years. In 2007, Chris became a Cyber Crimes Investigator and specialized in Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Matters, taking various roles across the United States and worldwide. Highlights include establishing a Crimes Against Children Task Force and a Cyber Crime Task Force in New Orleans and acting as Supervisor over the FBI's International Child Sex Tourism Initiative based out of Washington, D.C. Prior to working for the FBI, Chris served as an Officer in the Military Police Corps of the United States Army. He retired in 2017 from the U.S. Army Reserves at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and accomplished several Command assignments, multiple overseas tours, and served on senior staff assignments duty during his 27 years of service. Chris was born in Homestead Air Force Base, Florida. He received a master’s degree in Public Administration from Georgia College in 1996 and a BA in Criminal Justice from Georgia Southern University in 1989. He is married and shares three children with his wife Christine.
