Description
The Tax Council invites you to join their upcoming May online meeting, where leaders will present on hidden tax risks for Thai companies with employees and contractors assigned from offshore companies.
With heightened scrutiny from the Thai Revenue Department on the mobility of foreign employees and contractors in Thailand, members should be aware of the corporate tax issues that can result for Thai companies. This session is relevant for HR, legal, and finance managers of any company which hires or hosts foreign employees and contractors.
Foreign companies that send employees and contractors to Thailand may create Thai tax obligations for the foreign and Thai companies, yet many Thai companies remain unaware of the Thai tax risks from these arrangements. Corporate policies, contracts, and payment arrangements should be carefully considered to mitigate the Thai tax risks.
What will you gain from this session?
- Key assignment and activity triggers that may create a taxable presence
- Identify the Thai corporate tax risks
- Practical strategies to structure assignments and manage risk proactively
- Use of tax treaties and new OECD guidance to mitigate the risks
