About Us

Ford Motor Company established its ASEAN regional headquarters in Bangkok in 2003. The production, distribution, sales and servicing of Ford brand vehicles across the ASEAN region, as well as the company's Asia Pacific Emerging Markets (APEM) business unit, is currently managed from its Bangkok offices.

Ford Operations (Thailand) is a BOI-promoted company. Affiliated companies of Ford Motor Company in Thailand include Ford Sales and Service (Thailand), as well as Ford Motor Company (Thailand), Co. Ltd., and its AutoAlliance (Thailand) joint-venture, both located in the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, Rayong.

Ford's wholly-owned and joint-venture operations in Thailand currently employ around 10,000 people.

Ford's retail growth and success in Thailand is being driven by the segment-defining Ranger pickup truck and the mid-size Everest SUV, or PPV, as the segment is referred to in Thailand. These two vehicles have helped Ford to both outpace overall industry growth and gain market share each year since 2013.

The Company is supporting its continued retail growth in Thailand with an ongoing expansion of its nationwide Ford dealer network, which includes more than 145 locations.

Since 2007, Ford is one of the largest automotive investors in Thailand, having invested more than $1.7 billion to continually expand one of its key global production and export hubs. Overall, Ford is also one of the largest automotive investors in Thailand, with cumulative investments totaling more than $2.5 billion since 1995.

This includes an initial $450 million for its highly-flexible, state of-the-art Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) facility in Rayong. In 2015, Ford invested an additional $186 million to FTM for incremental Ranger production to help meet extraordinary demand across the region. Total annual capacity of FTM is 180,000 units.

Ford investments also include an additional $377 million in 2011 to upgrade and expand production of the pickup truck line at AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) for the all-new Ranger and all-new Everest. Ford's annual capacity at AAT is 135,000 units.

Ford Motor Company is an active participant in numerous social and community projects throughout Thailand. The Company launched the global Ford's Driving Skills for Life campaign in Thailand in 2008, and has since had more than 11,000 licensed drivers participate in a series of ongoing training sessions across the country, free of charge.

The Company proudly donates its Ford vehicles, supplies, human resources and funds to assist victims of natural disasters in Thailand in times of need.
