AMCHAM is honored to welcome H.E. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, to our virtual membership meeting this month to discuss the Ministry's initiatives in light of the far-reaching consequences of Covid-19 on the digital economy in Thailand. In his address to AMCHAM members, H.E. Chaiwut will talk about the range of measures the government is undertaking, the promotion and support for business sector to use digital technology and innovation in order to overcome the situation, and prospects for the rest of 2021 and beyond. Following his presentation, members will have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session.
H.E. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn is Minister of Digital Economy and Society since March 2021. He formerly served as an executive at Gulf Energy Development Plc. He is a party-list MP of the Palang Pracharath Party.
H.E. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn graduated from University of Southern California, United States with a Master of the Engineering and Chulalongkorn University with a bachelor's degree in engineering.
In serving as the Minister of Digital Economy and Society, his priorities are intensifying the Anti-Fake News Centre's mission to tackle illicit online content including fake news; false or misleading information presented as news mainly on social platforms. He also focuses on promoting e-services, 5G and digital infrastructure, Trusted Digital Ecosystem and National Digital ID system.
