Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) engagement can range from having strong environmental standards, such as sustainable raw materials and CO2 reductions, or advancing social issues, such as consciously hiring women into leadership roles. Or they can be implementing anti-corruption and other ethical corporate governance measures. By adopting ESG standards, companies can commit to do more to actively contribute in a positive and profitable way. Driven by demand from employees, investors, and customers globally, ESGs should not be left as buzzwords for the boardroom but rather implementable steps.
During this discussion, we will demystify ESG, sustainability, and impact, and address some of the most pressing questions in these areas: Is it just a good to have or an impactful metric for the firm? How have companies been able to implement such measures for profit gains and not just out of goodness? Are only large global companies implementing this? What are some success cases locally?
