Thailand produces more than 2 million tons of plastic waste annually, amounting to 12% of total waste. In April 2019, the Thai Cabinet issued the Roadmap on Plastic Waste Management 2018-2030, to be used as a policy framework to address the plastic waste problem in the country. The long-term objective is to reduce the use of plastics and replace it with environmentally friendly materials.
AMCHAM believes this is a huge step in the right direction which requires cooperation from all segments of the society.
In response to this, AMCHAM is forming a plastic waste management task force. The aim is to develop a position and organize related activities on this important issue.
Please join us for our first planning meeting on this task force.
