Description
Plant-based protein is high in demand from millennials, not only from vegetarians but from the growing number of consumers identifying as flexitarian. In response, food manufacturers worldwide are pouring investment into plant-based product innovation, formulating new products to enhance or replace meat and dairy. Protein is drawn from soybeans, legumes, almonds, quinoa, and other sources and turned into products such as beverages, snacks, cheese and yogurts, pasta, pet food, bakery products, and even a tuna replacement that is produced in Thailand.
Dr. Janice Rueda, Archer Daniels Midland Company, will join the Food and Agri-Business Committee to talk about the plant protein craze, new product trends, and the long-term outlook for plant-based protein. She will also bring samples of new plant-based products from the U.S. for the attendees to see and taste. Please join us for this interesting and interactive session!
