Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is a topic on everybody’s lips these days. Whether as part of a coordinated approach to building deeper and more productive customer relationships or in thinking about its widespread integration into government services, social media, and entertainment, AI is already having an impact on how we do business and how IT systems and digital technology interact with the real world. One thing is for sure: AI is here to stay, so the more we understand what it is and how to leverage that knowledge, the better positioned our organizations, large and small, will be for success in a digitally transformed world.
 
The AmCham DE Committee is pleased to have arranged for two leading experts on AI to help point us in the right direction. Discussion topics will include:

• What is AI?  Separating the real from the hype
• Global industry trends and the specific challenges and opportunities for AI in the ASEAN region
• Is AI for large enterprises only or can it be relevant for the needs of smaller companies too?
• What are the basic frameworks and tools needed to help an organization prepare for integrating AI? What skills do you need to have on board? How can the benefits of AI be accelerated within the organization?
• And finally, is AI a “must” or just a “nice to have” for staying competitive in a modern business environment?

Dr. Orathai Sangpetch, Vice President of Research and Strategy at CMKL University.
 
Dr. Orathai is one of Thailand’s leading technologists and played a key role in establishing CMKL, the groundbreaking collaboration between Carnegie Mellon University and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. She joined KMITL in 2013 after receiving B.S, M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon, and as one of the founding members of CMKL Dr. Orathai works closely in collaboration with public and private organizations in Thailand to support innovation and research strategy. Her goal is the realization of capabilities that will drive innovation and impact the transformation of Thailand and the region. In addition to AI, her research interests include virtualization, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, and she has published extensively on these and other topics.
 
Supparat Sivapetchranat Singhara na Ayutthaya, Chief Executive Officer of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (Thailand) and Chief Digital Officer of Frasers Property Thailand.
 
Khun Supparat is responsible for the data center operations and growth of STT GDC in Thailand, including the 2021 launch of its flagship hyperscale data center in Bangkok. He brings strong expertise in leading business growth and transformation enabled by both technology and new business models to support the Thailand 4.0 vision. As Chief Digital Officer of Frasers Property Thailand, he is responsible for the company's digital transformation strategy.
 
Supparat has over 20 years’ experience in the data center and technology sectors, most recently serving as Chairman of BBIX (Thailand), a subsidiary of SoftBank Group, and Chief Executive Officer for True Internet Data Center, where he was instrumental in driving revenue growth in Thailand and Myanmar. He has also held the positions of Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to that, he spent over 12 years in leadership positions with Thomson Reuters.
 
Supparat graduated from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Information Technology.
