In the import or export of goods, the business operators must classify their goods in the customs tariff as prescribed by the Customs Department in accordance with the Customs Tariff Decree B.E. 2530. The Customs tariffs are also used by many other laws such as the Free Trade agreements, Trade Control law (TCWMD), Anti-dumping, duty reduction under Section 12 of the Customs Tariff, etc.
It can be seen that the classification of goods into customs tariffs is very important. The World Customs Organization (WCO) has been improving the Harmonized System (HS) every 5 years to be up-to-date in line with international trade, technological changes, surveillance of products that affect the environment and society as well as improvements to be simpler and clearer. In this event, HS 2017 has been revised to HS 2022, which came into effect from January 1, 2022 onwards. Thailand, a member of the WCO, has always been adapted according to the WCO policy.
AMCHAM has coordinated with the Customs Department to select an interesting customs tariff group to publicize to members. The purpose of this seminar is to identify the details of the changes made in HS 2022. So, we would be glad if you could join and participate in the seminar.
The speakers of this seminar are from the Customs Tariff Division, namely Mrs. Chantamat Rattanaseri, Chief of International Tariff Unit I, International Customs Tariff Section, Customs Tariff Division, Thai Customs Department and Mr. Pongdetch Tippo, Chief of International Customs Tariff Unit II, International Customs Tariff Section, Customs Tariff Division, Thai Customs Department.
The topic of the seminar will cover on the changes of the HS 2022 as follows:
