AMCHAM's Creative Economy Council is pleased to invite members for a look behind the scenes at the Thai film industry, one of the pillars of the creative economy. Join us to welcome prominent film producer and director Aditya Assarat, who will lead us through the intricate process of how the film is produced from script to screen.
Aditya has been instrumental in promoting the Thai film industry and its role in the broader creative economy. His efforts have helped position Thailand as a vibrant hub for filmmakers and a destination for international film productions. His talk will cover the stages of production and distribution as well as the potential of the Thai film industry in the age of streaming platforms and global-soft power. After the main presentation, participants are invited to engage in an informal question-and-answer session.
About the Speaker
Aditya Assarat is a highly respected filmaker in the Thai film industry. His breakthrough came with his feature film, "Wonderful Town" which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 and received widespread acclaim for its poignant portrayal of love and loss against the backdrop of post-tsunami Thailand. His notable works include "Hi-So" a drama that explores the class divide in modern Thai society, and "The White Buffalo" a blend of myth and reality set in the Thai countryside.
