SUMMARY:Thailand’s Automotive Transition: Bridging Policy Ambition and Industry Reality
DESCRIPTION:Thailand's automotive transition is accelerating\, but how closely does policy ambition align with on-the-ground industry realities? As the country positions itself as the automotive hub\, questions around localization\, supplier readiness\, and market dynamics are becoming increasingly critical.\n\nJoin the AMCHAM Auto Council for a deep dive on Thailand's position in this transition\, including policy incentives such as excise privileges for locally produced auto parts\, supplier development\, and the balance between EV and ICE expansion. The session will also address external pressures\, including supply chain disruptions linked to geopolitical conflicts\, and their impact on raw materials and logistics.\n\n\n\nAbout Our Speakers:\n\nSuphot Sukphisarm is Chairman of the Auto-Parts Industry Club at the Federation of Thai Industries\, representing Thailand's automotive parts manufacturers and supplier community. He is actively engaged in industry coordination and dialogue across the automotive value chain\, with focus on sector competitiveness\, supply chain development\, localization\, and technology transition. He will share supplier-side perspectives on readiness\, transformation challenges\, and opportunities in the evolving mobility landscape.\n\n\n\nKrisda Utamote\, Honorary Advisor to the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT). He has dedicated over 24 years to his career with BMW Group Thailand. Throughout his tenure\, he has held multiple roles within the organization\, such as dealer development\, sales planning\, and overall management of MINI in Thailand. Currently\, he oversees corporate communications for the BMW\, MINI\, and BMW Motorrad business units within BMW Group Thailand\, which includes BMW Thailand\, BMW Financial Services Thailand\, BMW Manufacturing Thailand\, and BMW Parts Manufacturing Thailand.
