SUMMARY:Joint Legal Committee & CSR Committee: Human Rights & Supply Chain Due Diligence
DESCRIPTION:Recently the EU and several jurisdictions have been in the process of enacting supply-chain due diligence requirements around Human Rights assessments and reporting. These include UK Anti-slavery\, French Vigilance Law\, Swiss Referendum on mandatory disclosure (MDD) and EU proposed legislation on MDD\, which many anticipate to pass this summer. All of these are driven by the Business and Human Rights agenda. \n\n\n\nAs this agenda turns ten and looks toward the future\, our presenters\, Jonathan Blaine of DFDL and Jon Drimmer of Paul Hastings\, will give a brief history of the project's origins\, where things stand now and how they are likely to develop over the next ten years or so along with a discussion of the implications for ASEAN businesses that form an integral part of EU supply chains. The presentation will also touch briefly on tangential issues such as the adoption of the Principles of Responsible Investing (RPI) and the Principles of Responsible Banking (PRB)\, which are beginning to see uptake in Thailand.\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Speakers:\n\n Jonathan Blaine\, Tax Director\, DFDL \n\n Jon Drimmer\, Partner\, Paul Hastings
