DESCRIPTION:PDPA Preparedness: A Virtual Event Series\n\nPlease join us for a series of targeted online workshops aimed to help prepare AMCHAM members before the new PDPA law takes effect at the end of May 2021.  Produced by the AMCHAM Digital Economy\, Legal\, and HR Committees\, each event in the series examines a particular aspect of preparation and compliance\, and the practical steps required for companies to meet their obligations. Topics will include defining Personally Identifiable Information (PII)\, getting consent\, handling privacy issues in the workplace\, managing your data onsite and in the cloud\, and reviewing contractual agreements with your service providers.\n\n \n\nEpisode Event 1:  What is Personally Identifiable Information (PII) ?\n\nUnderstanding what Personally Identifiable Information covers is the cornerstone of PDPA Compliance.  How do you reassess what information needs to be kept and what doesn't\, about customers\, suppliers and staff? How does PDPA affect the way we manage CRM\, e-commerce\, accounting\, HR\, and other business functions and related applications? Who in the company needs to be aware of PDPA requirements\, and what's the best way to train them and develop the right mindset for ongoing compliance? \n\n \n\nJoin us to hear Montri Stapornkul\, Data Protection Officer at DTAC\, give a practical perspective on what kinds of data the PDPA covers.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nAbout the Speaker:\n\nMontri Stapornkul joined DTAC in 2017 and currently holds the position of Data Protection Officer\, with responsibility for designing and implementing the company's data protection related policies and procedures\, for operations as well as for technology. The author of many articles on Data Privacy and a frequently-quoted authority\, he has spoken at several Data Privacy and Cyber Security conferences\, including for the Thai Electronic Transaction Development Agency (ETDA)\, at Chulalongkorn University on GDPR\, and at Thammasat University on Data Protection Implementation.\n\n \n\nPrior to joining DTAC\, Montri worked for several Thai and international banks\, with responsibilities covering Consumer Sales\, Collections\, Operations\, and IT Governance. His expertise in Data Protection derives from that background\, as it has long been a basic component of secure financial operations. His professional background also includes work in the Oil and Gas sector. He graduated from California State University\, Northridge with a B.Sc. in International Business.
